The Lloyd’s of London Yacht Club are pleased to offer their prestigious 53ftt sailing yacht for skippered charter to members of the insurance community, our clients and service companies.

The current Lutine is the third yacht owned by the Club and is a prestigious ambassador for both the Lloyd’s and wider Insurance market. Built by Nautor Swan she is light and solid construction, elegant and beautiful, comfortable and spacious inside.

Ideal for Corporate Entertainment - cost effective and there is no better way to bond with your guests!

Ideal for Staff training and team building

Is sailing experience Necessary? - No, in fact none is ideal!

Where is Lutine?

Lutine is moored in Haslar Marina, Gosport Hampshire at the mouth of Portsmouth Harbour with easy access to the Eastern Solent. Gosport is approximately two hours by car from central London and there is a direct train service from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour.

What does a Charter Involve?

A typical charter will involve a day sailing to somewhere in the Solent for lunch, perhaps one of the clubs at Cowes or maybe dropping anchor in a quiet bay and enjoying lunch onboard before a late afternoon return to Gosport. For those of your guests who want to experience sailing a powerful offshore cruiser / racer this is a chance they will relish, but for those who wish to socialise there needs be no “press gang” as the boat is equipped with powered winches, furling sails etc. Longer charters involving over night stays can also be arranged.

How do we arrange a Charter?

Firstly, navigate to Lutine's Programme and choose the date that you would like to charter Lutine. Once a date has been selected, Click 'Go Sail' which will take you through to a charter booking form. Please complete all the form fields. Once the form has been submitted, a member of the club will contact you to arrange the details and payment of the charter.

The club will help you with advice on choosing a day, an itinerary for the occasion, provide directions and joining instructions for your guests. Caterers, accommodation, Ribs etc can all be arranged. A qualified Yachtmaster will be provided to skipper the day and the boat is fully equipped with wet weather gear.

As an alternative, please contact:

Peter Young - peter.young@rphodsongroup.com

What does it Cost?

The day charter rate varies from £500 to £1,500 according to the season, this includes the skipper but will not include food and drink etc. The daily costs are set out on the website (refer to Lutine’s programme).

Club Skipper

Lutine is available on a skippered charter basis. Lutine must at all times be under the overall control of either the club's own employed skipper or of a club approved skipper from the list of approved skippers. Unless you specify the name of a club approved skipper that has agreed to assist you for the charter, the club will provide either the club's own employed skipper or a club approved skipper for your charter."

There is no extra charge, it is an integral and legally necessary requirement that the charterer has a skipper that we approve or employ.

What Else?

The Club has an annual regatta for the insurance industry that is an opportunity to take on your peers. We also have some availability for Cowes and Cork Weeks. The Club’s annual dinner at the end of the season is a chance for crews to get back together, perhaps with partners and relive a good day out or a race in like minded company.

To arrange a Charter please click here to view Lutine's Programme. Once you have selected a date on the calendar you will be taken to a form and asked to complete your details. Once we have received your completed form we will contact you to agree the details for your charter.
